I don't like posting obvious 3-star videos, but I want you to know how much I miss Frank Zappa and how I want to honor him forever here on my YouTube channel.
When I first heard this song, I almost gave up guitar playing. It seemed to always defy my transcription techniques. Then I turned 50. My birthday present to myself was a month devoted to cracking this thing! I tried to frame it for guitarists and you should know it's DADGAD tuning.
I love acoustic guitar songs that use chords I've NEVER seen or heard of! This is one by Greg Lake of Emerson Lake & Palmer. I saw them open for Jethro Tull a few years back! Sorry for the ridiculous compression!
I knew I could kind of do the constricted throat vocal, so I quickly put together this little tuning and arrangement. It started as comedy, but now I kind of like it!
Every Sunday, I wake up and go through my music books and I try to play every song... even the completely electric ones! I just keep forcing it until it works. This is one of those songs. It's not really entertaining, I'm just bringing my hobby to "show & tell"!
You probably heard how my Canon camera squeaks... this is me plugging straight in using this highly compressed voiceover booth! Take my word for it, it's better!
Mr. "Can't Finish a Song" now performs his fractional version of this great song by Mountain. Why? Because I'll never be able to hit these notes again, I think we'll just have to settle for this TWO STAR version.
